Heckler and Koch HK416
The HK416 is a 5.56x45mm
magazine fed lightweight auto rifle available in multiple barrel lengths that
is gas operated through short stroke gas piston system for enhanced reliability
built on the common M4/M16/AR15 style platform. is frequently referred to as
the multi-role style platform. Frequently referred to as the versatile weapon.
Background
The HK416 was developed by
HK for an enhanced and improved M4 style system for Military special operations
and Law Enforcement use that provided more reliability and was longer lasting
with increased operator safety.
A multi-role weapon:
The base HK416 system can
and has been outfitted with various accessories, ammunition, and/or barrel
lengths.

Procedure:
Quick stroke A system
powered by a gas piston and "Pusher Rod" offers a more dependable
functioning while keeping system cleanliness.
• Reduces fouling of the
bolt, bolt carrier, and chamber by directing 95% of hot propellant gases and
fouling out of the weapon's muzzle end.
• Minimizes heat
transmission, decreasing wear on important components.
• Cuts down on operator
cleanup time.

• More dependable in
challenging conditions and while using different types of ammo from shorter
barrels.

heat transfer than with gas impingement systems, sustained fire rates may
